David Zipkin is Senior VP of Product at Technosylva, where he leads a team of product managers and designers building software that helps utilities and government agencies mitigate the risks of wildfire and extreme weather. Technosylva’s products are used by major North American utilities and fire agencies to anticipate, prepare for, and respond to escalating climate-driven hazards.

David brings over 20 years of experience in product management. As an early product leader in cloud computing at Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services, he created and operated multiple innovative offerings during his decade-plus tenure at AWS. He later joined the team responsible for decarbonizing Amazon’s operations in support of the company’s pledge to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2040.

At Technosylva, David partners with major utilities and fire agencies across North America — including Southern California Edison, PG&E, CenterPoint, Duke Energy, and CAL FIRE — to deliver the tools they rely on across the full arc of wildfire risk: from long-range planning of grid hardening and vegetation management investments, to the most consequential operational moments of a fire season
